Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, who is best known by her professional stage name, Halsey, is an American pop artist and songwriter. She was born in Clark, New Jersey on September 19th, 1994. The star first rose to fame for her spoof of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble”, but soon recorded a debut EP ‘Room 93’ in 2014. The EP peaked at #159 at US Billboard 200. Her debut album “Badlands” really put her on the map, selling almost 100,000 copies in the first week of release and holding the number two spot on the Billboard 200 chart. She won the Rising Star award by Billboard Women in Music in 2016 and was nominated for the MTV Europe Music Award for Artist on the Rise in 2015, as well as People’s Choice Award for Favorite Breakout Artist, and NME Awards in the Best New Artist category, in 2016.
