Jock Nowell-Usticke (who’s popularly known as BAYNK) is a New Zealand singer, songwriter and producer who was born on November 4th 1992 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Jock started his piano lessons when he was five years old. He learned the guitar and saxophone when he turned twelve. He later studied Chemical Engineering in College.

Jock is also a self-taught music producer. He wrote his songs, sang and produced them and posted them online. One of them, Sundae, got fairly popular and helped in his rise to fame. Mark Kneebone helped him to book an appearance at St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival which helped to establish his popularity. The performance was a big hit and got him touring. Some of his songs that immediately followed were About Me and Could You in 2016, and then the EP Someone’s EP I.
