East Coast singers Rob Resnick, known as Rez, and Cal Shapiro got together in October 2010 to form Timeflies, a groundbreaking duo that experiments with hip-hop, pop, rock, and dub-step sounds. The two of them were heavily into music when they were in high school, and were able to release their debut album entitled The Scotch Tape in 2011. Within one day of its release, the album went to the #8 slot on the iTunes chart and to #2 on the iTunes Pop chart. In an effort to stay connected to their fans, the duo formed what they named “Timeflies Tuesdays”, a webseries in which they release news and music.
After the success of their first album, the duo released a mixtape, two EPs, and a sophomore album entitled After Hours, on which they were able to collaborate with artists such as T-Pain and Fabolous. Again, the album soard to #1 on the iTunes Pop chart and #3 on the regular iTunes chart. The duo also made an appearance at the 2013 Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago.
