Santigold, born Santi White, is a recording artist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She began gaining attention online from her single “L.E.S. Artistes,” which was released through Downtown Records in 2008. The song charted worldwide, and earned year-end recognition from the likes of Rolling Stone and Pitchfork as one of the best tracks of the year. Her debut album, Santogold, was released that year, and garnered acclaim as one of the stronger debuts in recent memory. She won NME’s Best Breakthrough Artist award that year off the success of her singles and album. She followed it up in 2012 with Master of My Make-Believe, and 99¢ in 2016. The latter album charted internationally, and featured iLoveMakonnen on the single “Who Be Lovin Me.”
