The Pains of Being Pure at Heart in an indie pop group comprised of musicians Alex Naidus, a bassist, Kip Berman, a guitarist and vocalist, Kurt Feldman, on drums, and Peggy Wang on keyboard and vocals. They formed in 2007. They released on EP for Painbow. In 2008, they also released a number of singles on Atomic Beat Records and Slumberland.

Their first album, which was self-named, was released in February of 2009 on Slumberland. After the release of their 2010 summer single “Say No to Love”, they changed their sound and released “Belong” in 2011. After losing two members, the band recruited Jen Goma and brass player Kelly Pratt. The resulting album with the new members, “Days of Abandon” was produced by Andy Savours and released in 2014 alongside Yebo Music. The band’s next album “The Echo of Pleasure” was released by Painbow Records in 2017, before the band broke up in 2019.
