The Mambo Kings is a band that refers to its music as a “fusion of Afro-Cuban rhythm and Contemporary Jazz.” The band was formed in 1995 and made their debut with the Rochester Philharmonic in upstate New York. In the late 1990’s, they were invited to perform at the popular Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival, and they have also traveled to several different destinations within North America to perform their music. They have received several accolades, including being featured soloists at the Rochester International Jazz Fest in 2003 and 2008, and most recently the Big Sky Arts Fest in Montana in 2017. They plan on touring around North America in 2018 and doing shows with other popular groups such as the Louisville Symphonies and the Rochester Philharmonic.
