Born in January 9, 1976, Joshua Hayes Carll or simply known as Hayes Carll is from The Woodlands, Texas. He started learning music at the age of 15 when he got to have a guitar. Soon thereafter, he began composing songs. His music influences were Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, John Prine, and Dead Poets Society.
He graduated from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas with a degree in history. He then moved back to Texas where he played on local bars in Crystal Beach. He soon signed for Compadre Records. By 2002, he released his debut album “Flowers and Liquor.” His second album was released with the title “Little Rock,” under his own label Highway 97 Records. His 2008 album “Trouble in Mind” was released under Lost Highway Records.
