About David Wilkes
Dave Wilkes literally got his foot in the door of the music industry in the late 1960s as a doorman at the Bitter End Cafe in New York City, the epicenter of the "Folk Music/Singer songwriter movement."
Dave quickly became the bitter end's manager, as well as discovering and managing such performers as Barry Manilow, Emmy Lou Harris, and Jerry Jeff Walker; signing Jerry to ATLANTIC/ATCO and immediately had a top 20 pop smash with Jerry Jeff's song "Mister Bo Jangles."
He was Vice President of A&R (Singers & Repertoire) at Koch Records (now E1 Music), where he signed Ringo Starr, Joan Baez, Chris Brubeck, countless country and hip-hop artists, and modern jazz greats.
