Why don’t Agents from large agencies just tell you (after your vetted of course) the cost of an artist when you ask what is the cost for XYZ artist to perform at ABC place and date, they don’t even tell you if the date is open or what dates are open

    There are different reasons why they may do this. One of the reasons is that the date may be tentative at the moment, and that may change depending on the offer that is put in. Another reasons is I think the agent may not know if the date is open or not, as they may need to coordinate with management to confirm if it is or not. This is especially may be true if the artist isn’t on tour, and you are wanting to do just a one-off date.
