Is Q-scores a reliable way to gauge a successful endorsement?

I’ve heard about this website called Q-scores.com that ranks celebrities in a bunch of different categories. If I’m planning a licensing deal, would using this site be a reliable way to choose which celebrity to go with?

I really like using Q-scores to check out how much reach particular celebs have. That being said, it shouldn’t be the end of your research when you’re making a decision for your business. What works for your brand is going to be different from what works for another because you have a different target customer.

Q-scores makes a good place to start, but I suggest also using common sense to analyze whether the celebrities interests match with those of your ideal customer. Also, it pays to choose a celebrity who is genuinely interested in what you do. And that may not always mean picking the most well-known individual. Remember, you don’t need the entire globe to be aware of your endorsement partner, you just need your industry niche to be familiar with them and trust their opinions.

Another good place to look when choosing the right celebrity to work with is social media platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. You can gain extra leverage for your campaign by negotiating social media coverage in your contract. So, look for celebrities with loyal followers and high engagement. That doesn’t mean they have the most followers—it means each of their posts gets many likes, shares, retweets, etc.
