Born on July 8, 1992, singer/songwriter and actress Sky Ferreira grew up in Los Angeles, and spent much of her childhood with her grandmother, who had worked for quite some time as Michael Jackson’s stylist. She became interested in music at an early age, and began uploading her songs to her MySpace page. In 2009, after her videos caught the eye of music producers, Sky Ferreira signed a contract with Parlophone Records. Two years later, she released her debut EP entitled As If! 2012 saw the release of her second EP, Ghost, and she then became known through these two productions for her use of electropop sounds. The single on Ghost which rose to fame was “Everything is Embarrassing”, which Sky Ferreira co-wrote. After signing a contract with Capitol Records, she released her debut album Night Time, My Time in late 2013, which came on the heels of the lead single “You’re Not the One”. In early 2014, she opened for singer Miley Cyrus on her international Bangerz Tour.
